Re-Connect urban lighting concept
Oslo, Norway - a random metro station…
…most of us are never around as many people as when we make our daily commute to and from work. Even so – there is no other time that we interact so little with our surroundings.
We don’t smile to fellow passengers. Many don’t even wait for people to get off the train before they force their way on, we don’t offer old people our seat, or help mothers with their prams…
This concept is meant to address what I see as a problem and hopefully take a small step towards making it better.
In my view it’s not that people don’t care - It’s simply that they’re so deep inside their own worlds that they’re oblivious to everything and everyone around them. We seem completely disconnected from our surroundings.
It's perfectly simple – design environments that people can relate to – with character, personality. Lighting that talks to you, awakes certain feelings. Lights, shadows, reflections that stand out, wake you up and Re-connect you to your surroundings.
