Honourable mention in "tomorrows heroes design tomorrows heritage".
Competition held by Norwegian Arts and Crafts council and Statoil. The jury consisted of:
Gunnhild Digre (jury leader), industrial designer at Inventas in Trondheim,
Sissel Isachsen, lecturer at the institute for aesthetic subjects, Oslo university college, Jonas Ravlo Stokke, partner and designer at Stokke Austad and Tove Gulsvik, Arts and Crafts consultant in Buskerud.
The jury said the following about Måna Wash Hand Basin:
Honorable mention: Martin Johnson for the wash basin Måna. Johnson challenges both the rituals of washing and how most of today's products are designed. He wants to bring washing in a stream into the bathroom. He has solved the challenges he has set himself in an exemplary manner. Johnson has also challenged the competition's criteria and is too far beyond the competitions framework to reach the top. He has managed to create a good link between idea and product. An impressive effort.
